NATURAL TARTARIC ACID

Tartaric Acid is an
organic acid, the chemical formula of which may be dextrorotatory
and/or levorotatory: in nature it is dextrorotatory only.
Natural Tartaric Acid in its free form, or combined with potassium-calcium-magnesium,
is present in many fruits, especially in grapes.
It is an extremely versatile acid and it is utilised in a wide
range of industries. |
MAIN SECTORS
OF USE:

FOOD INDUSTRY:
This is the main field in which it is used:
- as an additive and natural preservative
for jams, fruit juices, pickles, soft drinks, etc...
- as an additive in emulsifying agents for
bread-making
- as effervescence for table waters
- as a leavening agent in the preparation
of desserts
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY:
It is used in the gypsum, cement and ceramic industries to delay
setting and as a fluidizer.
PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY:
It is used in the preparation of certain medicines (antibiotics,
cardiotonics, etc...) and as an excipient (it is not metabolised
by the human body).
COSMETICS INDUSTRY:
It is used as a base compound in many natural body creams.
WINE-MAKING INDUSTRY:
It is used to restore or correct wine acidity.
